Food Advisor is an AI-powered feature that helps you make smarter food choices — perfect for parties, buffets, or group dinners where you don't want to eat everything on the table but need help choosing what's best for your goals.

How to use it:

1. Long-press the camera button
2. Select 'Food Advisor'
3. Take a photo of all the food on the table

The AI will identify every item, analyze calories and macros, then recommend which foods to pick based on your personal goals (e.g., lose weight, gain muscle, eat healthier).

Each food gets a color-coded verdict:
🟢 Green — Eat (great choice for your goals)
🟡 Yellow — Moderate (okay in small portions)
🔴 Red — Avoid (not ideal for your goals)

Plate-Wise uses advanced AI to analyze photos of your meals.

What it does:

• Identifies food items automatically
• Estimates portion sizes
• Calculates calories, protein, carbs, and fat
• Detects weighing scales and reads the weight for exact nutrition

Simply take a photo of your meal, and the AI does the rest! It shows a confidence percentage for each analysis, and you can always edit the results before saving.

For the most accurate nutrition tracking, use a kitchen scale!

⚖️ How to weigh food:

1. Place your food on a kitchen scale
2. Take a photo showing both the food AND the scale display
3. The AI will automatically read the weight and calculate exact nutrition

Why it works:

• AI detects the digital scale reading automatically
• Calculates nutrition based on exact grams (not visual estimation)
• No manual weight input needed
• Works with any digital or analog kitchen scale

💡 Pro tip: You can also manually edit the weight in the food preview after scanning. Tap the food item, change the quantity to grams (e.g., '250g'), and nutrition recalculates automatically.

Your Dashboard has two ring sets — here's how to read them:

🔵 LEFT: Calorie Ring (two concentric rings)
• The ring fills clockwise as you eat — empty at 0%, full circle at 100% of your daily target
• Center shows calories remaining or how much you're over
• When you go OVER target, a darker shade continues past the start point, and the ring glows yellow as a gentle heads-up

🟣 RIGHT: Macro Rings (three concentric rings)
• Outer ring = Protein (blue)
• Middle ring = Carbs (orange)
• Inner ring = Fat (green)
• Each fills to 100% of your target. Center shows eaten/target for each
• Over target? A darker shade extends past the start — same yellow glow

💡 Quick read:
• Gap in the ring = still have room
• Full ring, no glow = right on target
• Full ring + dark overlap + yellow glow = over target

Smart Favorites lets you log frequently eaten foods with one tap!

How it works:

• Heart ❤️ a food item to save it as a favorite
• Favorites are tagged by meal type (breakfast, lunch, etc.)
• See up to 3 favorite pills on collapsed meal cards for quick logging
• Add Food picker shows up to 8 favorites filtered by meal type
• Sorted by recent usage and frequency

💡 Long-press on any favorite pill to remove it.

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Enable meal reminders
3. Customize reminder times for each meal:

• Breakfast
• Lunch
• Dinner
• Snacks
• Supper

Plate-Wise uses fun, encouraging messages to remind you to LOG your meals (not to eat). Push notifications require allowing permissions on your device.

You can easily edit any food item detected by the AI.

Tap the edit (pencil) icon to:
• Change the food name
• Adjust portion size
• Manually enter calories

Smart scaling:
• Change only calories → macros scale proportionally
• Change only quantity → all values scale by the ratio

Your corrections help the AI learn and improve future accuracy!

Use the date tabs on the Dashboard (Today, Yesterday) or tap the calendar icon to select any date within your retention period (7 days for Free, 12 months for Pro). You can log meals retroactively to keep your streak and history accurate.

Your streak increases each day you log at least one meal. Logging counts even for offline captures!

Your streak is visualized as a growing tree in My Garden (Social tab):
🌱 Seed (Day 1) → 🌿 Sprout (Day 2) → 🌳 Sapling (Day 3-7) → 🌸 Flowering (Day 8-10) → and more stages up to Grove (Day 45+)!

Miss a day and your tree starts withering, but you can revive it by logging again!

Plate-Wise organizes your daily food into 5 meal types: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and Supper. Each has its own expandable card on the Dashboard showing total calories and items. You can add multiple food items to each meal throughout the day.
